As a therapist, I aim to create a safe, non-judgmental space for my clients to openly speak their mind, express their emotions, and tell their story. Creating a space where every individual has a voice and feels like they are being heard is something I prioritize at all times. I empower clients to explore their strengths and help develop effective strategies to become their best version. I am also a client-centered therapist, so I meet my clients where they are and include my clients in every step of the therapy journey. I believe in having a genuine client/therapist relationship where I prioritize trust and collaboration.
I have experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma or disruptions in their daily lives, including individuals affected by the legal system. Working in behavioral health, I have experience working with individuals who use substances, have experienced trauma, have anxiety, depression, and PTSD. My techniques come from a client-centered and strength-based approach, while incorporating aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy and narrative therapy.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree at Grand Valley State University, where I majored in Psychology and minored in Juvenile Justice. I then went on to get my Master of Social Work degree at Wayne State University, where I focused on client-centered modalities and holistic approaches, including behavioral health and holistic defense.
