Doreena Smith, Counseling Intern

Hello, my name is Doreena Smith, and I am an intern at Creekside. I earned my bachelor's degree in human development and Family Studies from Michigan State University and am currently completing my final year of the Master of Social Work program, along with the Child Welfare Certificate Program, at Michigan State University.

Following graduation, I plan to obtain my clinical licensure and pursue a career as a therapist. My goal is to utilize a trauma-informed approach to support individuals in navigating challenges, developing healthy coping strategies, and working toward meaningful growth and healing. I am passionate about creating a safe, compassionate, and supportive environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout their therapeutic journey.
