Susan Mason-Hollis, LMSW
Ages Seen: 5-18
Treatment Focus: ADHD, ASD, Anxiety, Self Confidence / Self Advocacy, Social Issues, Behavioral DifficultiesTaking the first step toward therapy for your child can feel overwhelming, but it is in fact an act of courage and strength. My goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental, and neuroaffirming space where my clients feel truly seen and heard. My practice is strengths based and client centered and I am committed to providing specialized care that is individualized to your child’s specific needs. We won't just talk about the problems. We will develop a "toolbox" of strategies your child can use in his or her daily life to reframe thinking, regulate emotions, and change behavior.
Parents are the primary experts on their children. I prioritize consistent communication with parents to ensure we are aligned on therapeutic goals. Our collaboration is a partnership where I provide the clinical and educational strategy and you provide the lived experience. Together, we ensure that the progress your child makes in the therapy room translates into meaningful progress in the home, community, and school environments.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Wayne State University, a Master of Arts in teaching from Wayne State University, and a Master of Clinical Social Work from Michigan State University. In addition to being a licensed clinical social worker with a specialization in special education school social work, I am also a certified teacher with over 18 years of general and special education classroom experience. The special education system can be an overwhelming maze of IEPs, 504 plans, and complex evaluations. I bring a unique focus to my practice by helping families navigate this system with confidence.
In our work together, I won’t just point the way. I will walk it with you and offer individualized guidance to ensure our work together results in meaningful growth for your child in all aspects of their life.
